A Pair of 19th Century Campana Urns
A pair of large 19th century cast iron campana form urns manufactured by the Andrew Handyside foundry of Derby, England, circa 1870.
The fluted socle on square base supporting the gadrooned bowl with twin Satyr mask handles, the waisted body cast with spiralling acanthus leaf decoration, layered historical paint.
A really fabulous pair of urns of large size with just the best decaying painted decoration.

Depth 25.75in (65.5cm).
Width 25.75in (65.5cm).
Scottish engineer Andrew Handyside bought the Brittania Ironworks in 1847 and it continued to operate producing the finest decortive and structural cast iron after his death in 1887 till 1933.
